the pathway course - starts sunday 19th july

A guide for those starting out on the way of grace …
Sundays from July 19th-August 30th

Join Paul Anderson-Walsh for the 2009 Pathway Course
which will be held throughout the remainder of July and
the entire month of August. The Pathway is designed as
an introduction into the narrow-gated pathway of grace -
the ancient path.

It may seem odd that the same Jesus who tells us that
His yoke is easy and his burden is light, is the same
Jesus who counsels us to enter through the narrow
gate.

Indeed the way-of-grace is ‘narrow’. Jesus wasn’t
saying that it would be hard - He was saying it would be
hard-for-us to understand because in contrast to the
path that leads to destruction,(the religious-path-of-selfeffort),
which is both wide and easier to reckon with, the
narrow way is counter to our natural inclinations and
thus hard for us to grasp.

The way of grace is counter-intuitive to the religiousmind.
It is a matter of nature not nurture, contemplation
not calculation, covenant not contract, faith not works,
letting-it-happen, not making it happen and so on.
The Pathway series will comprise of a series of talks
which we will attempt to hold in the round, discussion
and Q&A and instead of the usual time of worship, we
will be experimenting with a more contemplative form of
worship.

The Pathway Course
Thus says the Lord: Stand by the roads, and look, and ask for the
ancient paths, where the good way is; and walk in it,and find rest
for your souls. (Jer 6:16)
