book

Safe and Soundis the first of a trilogy based on 1 John 2:12-14
entitled Until Christ Is Formedand charts the believer through the
three stages of life: the child, the teen and the father phases. Each
step has a key theme: for the child it is confidence, for the teen it is
competence, and for the father it is being a confidant.
This book deals with confidence - can I entrust myself to God? Authentic
unshakeable Christian confidence is based on what God in Christ has
done for man, not on what man does for God. That is the basis for our
eternal security. When we understand God’s agapé love for us, this
liberating truth will cause us to have confidence and assurance about
our salvation and God’s limitless love for us.
“Safe and Sound re-presents grace to us not merely as a topic to be
discarded after an initial experience of salvation, but as an ongoing truth that
is at the very heart of how we are called to live. In an age where ‘self help’
and ‘how to’ teachings abound, this book’s timely message needs to be
heard again and again.”
Dave Bilbrough SONGWRITER AND WORSHIP LEADER
“This book will inspire and encourage you. The tenth chapter is one of the
best apologetics for the security of the believer that I have ever seen.”
Dr Steve McVeyPRESIDENT, GRACE WALK MINISTRIES
“Paul Anderson-Walsh’s intellectual depth and emotional intelligence mean
he is able to use the pen like an expertly skilled surgeon cutting between
truth and previously held but erroneous thinking in such a gracious and
compelling way it allows the reader to discover truth for themselves.
Be warned, this book will change you.”
Carrie and David Grant VOCAL COACH AND TV PRESENTERS
We cannot ignore the fact that there are a growing number of peo‑
ple who used to profess a faith and call themselves Christians but
no longer do so. Even higher is the number of people who used to
go to church only to end up feeling dejected for going to the Char‑
ismatic Disneyland and discovering, to their dismay, that they
would never be spiritually tall enough to go on any of the rides.
Some leave unable to deal with guilt; others withdraw not being
able to reconcile themselves to the apparent contradictions. The
cry that has gone up from the Church is the same plaintiff plea
heard in Elijah’s day: “O man of God, there is death in the pot!”
(2 Kings 4:40). However, rather than treat the stew with the heal‑
ing flour of grace, church leaders of today have all too often insisted
that the cure is to simply eat more stew.
Perhaps the greatest presumption of this book will be to offer
itself as “flour” for the stew. It is designed as a cure for all who
unwittingly gathered the wild gourds of religion (mistaking them
for the good news of the gospel of grace), ate them and got sick.
