by his stripes …

We all know that it is by His stripes we are healed (Isa 53) yet we sometimes overlook the fact that when we understand co-crucifixion we discover that our stripes have miraculous healing power too.

We who are healed become healers; we who are redeemed become redeemers. I was provided with a compelling reminder of that last night, the opening evening of our conference here in Finland. I had been asked to give my testimony (tell my story) and it was remarkable to see how a simply story can resonate with so many people.

Each one of us has a story to tell, a story that when told through the recognition of its God-meant-it-for-goodness has redeeming power. The challenge for us all is not that we don’t know what to say, it is that we don’t say what we know. One doesn’t need to be theologically trained to tell their story (probably helps if you’re not) we need to just remember that by our stripes they can be healed too
